Payment and Insurance
Fees will vary based on your insurance coverage. I am an in-network provider with Premera, LifeWise, Kaiser PPO, and First Choice. For out of network insurance, I am able to submit the claim for you so that you will receive reimbursement, but require full payment from you at time of service. If I do not receive 48 hours notice of cancellation, you will be charged for the session. I do have slots available on a sliding scale. In our first session, we will talk about fees and what you are able to afford. I encourage you to speak with me if you are unsure about whether or not you can afford counseling.
Insurance and mental health coverage
I always advise people to contact their insurance company directly with questions and to know exactly what they can expect to have covered. Some helpful questions to ask are:
Does my plan cover mental health treatment?
Do I have coverage for an out of network provider?
Is there any pre-authorization required?
How much is my deductible? Have I met my deductible for the year?
Are there any limits on how many sessions you will cover? (Please note that health care laws require insurance companies to treat mental health the same as physical health when it comes to coverage. This is called parity. If your provider says that you have a session limit, ask them how this complies with mental health parity laws.)
Once we have decided to work together, I will gather your insurance information and we will talk about the billing process.
I accept cash, check, debit, and credit cards, as well as HSA/FSA cards.
